No Ads, Any Plan

Free QR code generator with no ads.

Your customer scanned for your page, not for an advertisement with a countdown on it. SunriseQR never puts anything between a scan and where the code is meant to go: no interstitial, no watermark on the artwork, on every plan including the free one.

No account, no watermark, and nothing to dismiss. This one makes a static code, which can never carry an ad because nothing sits in the middle of it. Sign up free for dynamic codes you can edit after printing, also without ads.

01

What an ad on a QR code looks like

It is called an interstitial. The phone opens the provider's link, and instead of being forwarded immediately, it is served a page: a full-screen advertisement, often with a countdown, before your destination will load. The person scanning has no warning it is coming. The business that printed the code usually has no say in what is advertised.

It is most common on free and entry-level plans, because the redirect is the one piece of the experience the provider owns outright. Which is precisely why it is worth asking about before you print anything.

How to check whether a QR code generator shows ads

Every generator in this category claims to be ad-free. This is how you check one, including ours, in about ten seconds.

With a phone

Make a code, print or display it, and scan it yourself while watching the screen closely. Anything that appears before your own page is an interstitial, even if it is only there for a second, and even if it looks like the provider's own branding rather than an advertisement. If your destination is the first thing you see, the redirect is clean.

Or, if you are technical

curl -I https://qr.sunriseqr.com/demo

A clean redirect answers 302 with a Location header naming your destination, and no body at all. There is no page, so there is nowhere to put an ad. If a provider answers 200 with an HTML document, something is being shown to your visitors on the way through, and you should find out what.

Four ways a free QR code generator isn't free

Ads are the most visible, not the only one. It is worth knowing the full set before you commit anything to print.

01

Ads on the scan

An interstitial page between the scan and your destination, usually with a countdown. This is the one that touches your customer rather than you, which is why it belongs at the top of the list.

02

A watermark on the artwork

A logo or wordmark baked into the code image, removable by upgrading. It is not a scanning problem, it is a credibility one: it tells everyone who sees your flyer which tool made it.

03

Codes that stop resolving

A trial ends, a plan lapses, and every printed code becomes a dead link or an upgrade prompt. Printed material has a much longer life than a subscription, which is exactly the leverage.

04

A cap on scans

A monthly scan allowance that turns your best month into an outage. A QR code that stops working when it is working is a strange thing to buy.

Ad-free is easy on a static code. The test is a dynamic one.

A static QR code encodes your destination directly in the pattern. The phone never contacts anyone in between, so there is no ad to insert and nothing to promise. Plenty of free tools are ad-free for exactly that reason, and they also cannot be edited, cannot be tracked, and cannot be fixed if the link changes.

A dynamic code is the opposite. It encodes a short link that a service resolves, which is what lets you change the destination after printing and count every scan. That resolution step is real infrastructure, and somebody pays for it. Ads are one answer to who. Ours is the subscription, from customers who need more than five codes.
