Plans for one code or ten thousand

A dynamic QR code encodes a short redirect link instead of your destination. When someone scans it, we forward them to wherever the code currently points. That means you can change the destination anytime, even after the code is printed, and every scan is counted in your analytics.

No. Free dynamic codes keep redirecting indefinitely, and static codes work forever by nature.

Never, on any plan, including the free one. Some providers fund a free tier by serving a full-screen ad between the scan and your destination, usually with a countdown. A SunriseQR scan is a plain redirect with no page in between, so there is nowhere for an ad to appear. You can verify it yourself: curl -I a SunriseQR short link and you get a 302 and a Location header, not an HTML page.

Every code you've already printed keeps redirecting forever, no matter what plan you're on. If a downgrade puts you over your new plan's limit, the extra codes become read-only until you upgrade again or bring your count back under the limit; they keep scanning, you just can't edit them in the meantime.

A GS1 Digital Link code is an ordinary QR code, laid out the way the GS1 retail standard specifies, so a single code scans at store checkout and also opens a product page, recipe, or support info for shoppers. Paid plans include a hosted resolver, which is the service that answers each scan and sends the phone to the right page. The Free plan includes 5 retail product QR codes, and Retail includes 100. Business includes unlimited.

Static codes bake the content directly into the pattern: URLs, WiFi credentials, contact cards, email, phone, SMS, calendar events, or plain text. They work forever with no server involved. They are free and unlimited on every plan.

You can see when, where, and on what kind of device your code was scanned: scans by day, country, and device type. Scans are anonymous; we count events, not people.
