A GS1 Digital Link QR code encodes a standardized URI that contains your product's GTIN (Global Trade Item Number). Unlike a generic QR code that points to any URL, a Digital Link QR code follows the GS1 URI structure: https://resolver.example/01/{GTIN}
This format is required by the Sunrise 2027 initiative, which mandates that retail POS systems in 48+ countries accept 2D barcodes (including QR codes) alongside traditional UPC/EAN barcodes by the end of 2027.
The QR code generated by this tool is GS1-compliant — it uses the correct AI (Application Identifier) syntax with /01/ for GTIN and zero-pads to 14 digits as required by the standard.
